Lots of kick-ass games on one disc! Japan is getting this nice bundle of XBLA titles —Trials HD, Limboand‘Splosion Man— as a collection on one disc. It will be called a Triple Pack and it will hit shelves here on May 19 for 2,980 yen (about $34). TheXbox Japan webpagefor this release pitches the games a bit differently that they’d be sold here, but what really matters is that these good games get put in front of a large group of gamers that may have missed them before....

Looks like it’s not just Nintendo’s motion control and marketing direction that Microsoft looks set to ape with Kinect. The company will also be mimicking its pricing strategy, with word that Kinect will sell at a profit. Don Mattrick tells the New York Times that, although the first Kinect prototype cost $30,000 to make, the system can now sell for “$150 a pop and still turn a profit.” Of course, the original Kinect prototype (Project Natal) was a significantly superior bit of tech before Microsoft ripped its guts out to create Kinect....
After playing the non-traditionalCastlevaniatitle, the Wii exclusiveJudgment, I had a chance to clense my gaming-palette with some hands-on time withCastlevania: Order of Ecclesiafor the DS. Not surprisingly, the feels and looks incredibly familiar, following the basic “Metroid-vania” formula we’ve come to love. You’ll be playing as Shanoa, a female member of Ecclesia, an order formed with the sole purpose of defeating Dracula. To aid in this task, you’ll absorb Glyphs by holding up on the d-pad....
I have a soft spot for original IPs and adorable robots, so Vogster Entertainment’s Nintendo DS title,Robocalypse, has certainly caught my attention. The real-time strategy title is being designed exclusively for the Nintendo DS, and has some heavy talent behind its narrative —SpongeBob Squarepantswriter/director Jay Lender is on board (along with Micah Wright … dude wrote theSopranosgame) to bring these zany robots some personality. Vogster are also calling the title a “technological breakthrough,” which features “50 independently AI-driven units with advanced distributed path-finding, dynamic music, and stunning, 3D particle effects....

One would assume that since Mark Hamill played young Luke Skywalker and he is now older that he would be a perfect fit to voice old Luke Skywalker. The actor is alreadya veteran of voicing videogame characters, so logic would lead one to believe he’d be a perfect fit....

Kojima’s pissed, reportedly. Apparently a “certain scene” that is “absolutely necessary for MGS” had to be cut from the Japanese version of the game to get CERO’s proper certification, which is a C (age 15). You know Hideo Kojima and how much of a perfectionist he is, though I can’t picture him with a mad face. On our side of the pond, a T rating from the ESRB leaves the game fully intact, just as Kojima intended....
PlayStation 3 owners, here’s your chance to spit in the direction of Xbox 360 gamers — Midway has confirmed thatUnreal Tournament 3for the PlayStation 3 will be shipping to retailers on December 10. This had been previously confirmed by Epic’s Vice President Mark Rein, who had revealed that the game had gone gold. Of course, up until now, Epic had been saying the game was shaping up for a 2007 release, and Midway was solid in their “early 2008” position....
