Pix’n Love Rushhas seen a considerable amount of success on the App Store, and courtesy of Sanuk Games, it’s being brought to PlayStation Minis for PSP and PS3. Even if it were simply a straight-up port, this game would be worth getting excited over. But, that’s not the case — this version ofPix’n Love Rushhas the On-Off Rush mode, in addition to the recent Cursed mode. There’s a good demonstration of both of these in the attached video....
I just finishedSnake Eaterfor the umpteenth time, except this go-round was on Extreme difficulty. I don’t know why I didn’t try it earlier — the boss fights are friggin’awesomewhen they actually require some degree of strategy. Still not sure how I feel about the theme song, though. It seems that most people fall into two camps where the original games are concerned: those who holdGold/Silverup as their favorite two games of the main series, and those that never played them....
A new patch forFallout: New Vegasis available on Xbox Live today, but users are being urged not to download it yet. Funnily enough, it needs a patch itself! Some of those who have already downloaded the patch are reporting issues with their saved games, although what these issues are have not yet been determined. Bethesda is working on getting a new update out there “as soon as humanly possible.” Until then, decline any patch requests....
The PSPgo launch was not exactly an exciting and star-studded affair. My local store was practically empty and there was no danger of the machines selling out. This seems to be a pretty consistent story across the world. Despite this, however, Sonyhas boastedof a PSP sales boost and believes the new model is performing as expected. “PSPgo has performed in line with our expectations, driving 100% incremental volume for the category and has benefited the broad PSP portfolio with PSP-3000 also enjoying a big lift,” states Sony Computer Entertainment Europe....
Some people are kind of interested inRage,but only a little bit. For those people, you should know thatRage‘s novel tie-in is now available. The book follows the adventures of Lieutenant Nick Raine as he emerges from his protective Ark and confronts the challenges of a recently asteroid-ravaged Earth. Rageis around $10 around the net in paperback and Kindle Edition (if you feel like paying retail price for a digital copy) and I’m sure soon-to-be fans of the game will love the novel....
For a $29.99 Wii-exclusive game about fighting fires, Epicenter’sReal Heroes: Firefightersure does have a pretty solid voice cast. If you alreadyread my previewfrom awhile back, you’ll recognize some of it. Like James Marsters, best known for his work fromBuffy the Vampire Slayeras Spike. Or comedian Jamie Kennedy. Or John Di Maggio, Bender fromFuturamaand Marcus Fenix from some game people keep talking about calledGears of War. Suspiciously missing from the announced voice-acting cast is the winner of theReal Heroes: Firefightercontestwe held awhile back....
While Realtime Worlds is off continuing work onAPB, it seems other projects are in the pipeline as well. Nothing too strange for the industry, sure, but thanks to lead artist Tahir Rashid’s LinkedIn, we know specifically that the studio has a new IP planned for release in 2011. Of course, the part about this unannounced project being released next year has since been edited out. Sounds like someone got a little excited and said too much....
I know that E3 is right around the corner and that we all have stars in our eyes for the next wave of games. We like our games bigger, faster, and perpetually shinier, and it drives the industry. Of particular interest is Fumito Ueda’slatest project, as of now calledTrico. That’s nice and all, but there’s nothing wrong with a little retrospection. Right? Why not take some time to think about the beautifulShadow of the Colossus–Ueda’s previous project–while we wait for moreTricoinformation, hopefully in the guise of an E3 announcement?...
Remember the buzz surrounding Nintendo’s wiimote, and how the sum of its parts seemed a bit pricey, when compared to what the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 were offering? A list of songs, purported to be the complete and finalGuitar Hero III: Legends of Rockset list, has hit the Internet. The list contained a number of “unannounced” songs, including tracks by Sonic Youth, the Dead Kennedys, and more. The songs were listed in tiered order, and also included all of the boss battle, encore, and co-op encore tracks. The list (which originally appeared on the ScoreHero forums) quickly disappeared, and was later called out as a hoax by ScoreHero mods....
