Midway Games can now claim three recent successes, despite their seeminglytenuous financial situation. Recently, a federal judge decided that Midway was not at fault in a weird copyright infringement lawsuit involvingPsi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy. Minecraftcreator Notch hasposted on his blogthat the gamewill, if all goes according to plan, officially “release” on November 11 of this year. Here are some new screens for Deep Silver’sDead Island, and they’re jam-packed with an unreasonable amount of zombies. Given how tough just a couple of the undead can be inDead Island, the prospect of fighting in some of these significantly large battles is pretty frightening. I can confirm that the game makes zombies formidable foes once again, something that we haven’t seen for a while. Even with four players, a mere collection of five enemies is a tricky prospect....

At this year’sTokyo Game Show, we brought back news of a new Wii game from Sega calledLet’s Tap. In this game, you tap on a cardboard box to control everything, whether it be little runners running a race, or bouncing balloons you have to catch. It doesn’t really make sense until you see it in action, but from what we played, it was a lot of fun. It’s not all silly minigames, though....

A new custom firmware has been released, and it’s bricking 60 GB consoles left and right. Oh dear. Sega ain’t afraid of a little blood. This newRise of Nightmares“Red Band” trailer has plenty of blood and gore, but it’s set to a funny soundtrack so you can laugh a little as zombies are being sliced, prodded, gutted and ripped apart. You’ll see blood running waist high in the game footage, which is why we had to put the age gate on the above video. I was going to make a joke about the brutal weaponry in this game beingcutting-edge, but I see Sega PR has already thought of that one....
